The apex court said Subhash’s 4-year-old child will continue to stay with his mother Nikita Singhania. However, the court allowed Subhash’s mother Anju Devi to approach the lower court for child custody. In the petition, she had said that Nikita and her family harassed her son for money by trapping him in a false cases, due to which, he had to commit suicide. She also claimed that her grandson is not safe with her. New Delhi: Ending weeks of suspense over the whereabouts of AI techie Atul Subhash’s four-year-son, his estranged wife Nikita Singhania told the Supreme Court today that the child is at a boarding school in Haryana’s Faridabad. Nikita’s lawyer added that the child would be taken to Bengaluru where he can stay with his mother. Thirty-four-year-old Atul Subhash died by suicide in December after accusing Nikita and her family members of harassing him and his parents by filing false cases against them. Nikita, her mother Nisha, and her brother Anurag are facing an abetment to suicide case and are currently out on bail. Atul’s mother Anju Devi has approached the Supreme Court, seeking custody of her grandson. Nikita’s lawyer told the court today that the four-year-old had been enrolled in a Faridabad boarding school and was there during her mother’s arrest and subsequent bail. Atul Subhash died by suicide on last month after alleging harassment by his wife and his in-laws. Subhash’s estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania, were booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 108 (abetment of suicide) on the basis of a complaint filed by the deceased’s brother. They had approached the session court in Bengaluru for bail in the case. The accused had previously requested the Karnataka High Court to instruct the session court to expedite the disposal of their bail petition. Bengaluru: The accused wife should not be allowed to use the child as a tool to get bail in the court, said Akash Jindal, counsel for Atul Subhash, an automobile company employee, who committed suicide alleging his wife demanded Rs 3 crore for divorce settlement. Days after the tragic suicide of AI engineer Atul Subhash, his mother filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking custody of her 4-year-old grandson. Subhash’s mother Anju Devi approached the apex court, requesting that the child be handed over to her and his grandfather’s custody. A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and N Kotiswar Singh heard the case and issued notices to the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Karnataka, asking them to respond to the petition. The case has seen multiple arrests in connection with Atul Subhash’s suicide. New Delhi: The mother of Atul Subhash, the Bengaluru engineer who died by suicide on December 9, has approached the Supreme Court seeking custody of her four-year-old grandson. Subhash left behind video and written notes alleging harassment and false accusations from his wife and in-laws.   Anju Modi has filed a habeas corpus petition to secure the custody of her grandson whose whereabouts are unknown. The petition claims that neither Subhash’s estranged wife Nikita Singhania, nor her family members – currently in custody – have disclosed the child’s whereabouts.  Nikita reportedly told the police that the boy was enrolled in a Faridabad boarding school and in the custody of her uncle, Sushil Singhania. However, Sushil has denied any knowledge of the child’s location. Speaking to news agency ANI, Mr Modi thanked the police for arresting Nikita and her family members in the abetment to suicide case. “We don’t know where she has kept our grandson. The Singhanias have been produced in court and will be remanded in custody. Earlier, Bengaluru police had asked them to appear within three days. Nikita Singhania and her family members are at the centre of massive outrage over Atul Subhash’s death by suicide and the allegations he made against them in a 24-page suicide note and an 80-minute video. The 34-year-old techie, originally from Bihar’s Samastipur, was found dead at his Bengaluru flat on Monday. Police found a detailed note at his home, with every page starting with “justice is due”.
