Scared of Iran ‘war,’ Trump to repeat Venezuela plan as Khamenei’s submarines surround US warship?

Published on Jan 27, 2026 04:31 pm IST U.S. President Donald Trump has said the situation with Iran is “in flux” after ordering a “big armada” into the Middle East, triggering fears of a direct military showdown. On January 26, Trump claimed U.S. forces near Iran are “bigger than Venezuela,” as the USS Abraham Lincoln entered CENTCOM’s area of responsibility after sailing from the Asia-Pacific. Reports say Washington is also weighing a naval blockade to choke off Iran’s oil exports, echoing the Venezuela playbook that led to Nicolás Maduro’s capture. Iran has responded by deploying its Fattah and Ghadir attack submarines across the Persian Gulf, including near the Strait of Hormuz. While the White House insists strikes remain “on the table,” Trump has also said Tehran wants a deal. With Trump’s team split between diplomacy and regime-change strikes, the Middle East now stands on the brink of a dangerous U.S.–Iran confrontation.   News / Videos / Scared of Iran ‘war,’ Trump to repeat Venezuela plan as Khamenei’s submarines surround US warship? Fitness App Leads To Massive Security Breach On French Nuclear Submarines

Paris, France: Officers and crew aboard a French nuclear submarine have accidentally blown their cover as well as their location and schedule by recording their runs and jogs on a fitness app. The nuclear submarine scheduled for Russian patrol has risked leaking crucial data such as location, position, and patrol schedule to Moscow. The mobile and smartwatch app in question is the Strava app, which allows its users to share their fitness activities and achievements online and monitor their progress worldwide. The app has a feature which includes publishing the data on a map with the accurate location where the user completed his/her/their exercise or achieved their fitness goal. The location where the faux pas happened was the Ile Longue submarine base in Brest Harbour in France’s Finistere. The base is reportedly home to four French nuclear submarines, each carrying 16 nuclear missiles, with an explosive intensity roughly a thousand times as powerful as the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
