Hema Suneetha took charge as the Principal Financial Advisor (PFA), South Central Railway (SCR), on Tuesday (April 8, 2025). After completing her Bachelors of engineering in electronics and communications from Osmania University and post-graduation diploma in management from IIM, Kolkata, she had joined the Indian Railways in 1995. She was awarded “The DG’s Medal” for standing first in the training course with distinction at Railway Staff College (Now National Academy of Indian Railways), Vadodara. Her previous stint has been as Financial Advisor (FA) & Chief Accounts Officer/Traffic & Capex Management, SCR. During her tenure in Southern Railway spanning over two decades, she had worked in various capacities. Vivekananda Reddy, who was brutally murdered ahead of the 2019 general elections, raised a bunch of questions which she said ‘remained unanswered’ for the last five years. For the first time, she conducted a press conference at ‘Ground Zero’, i.e., her father’s residence in Pulivendula town of Kadapa district, which stood a mute witness to the gruesome murder. Sharmila and cousin Suneetha Narreddy for joining the opposition bandwagon against him with “an eye on political power,” Ms. Suneetha, daughter of slain MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, rubbished the charge and asked voters to choose between “her protracted legal fight for justice and Jagan’s thirst for power.” Speaking to the media outside the High Court of Telangana in Hyderabad on Thursday, she accused Mr. Jagan of raking up the murder issue once again ahead of the ensuing polls “to derive political mileage” as he did in 2019.
