For years, the ticketing interface of the Indian Railways has drawn persistent complaints, often accused of being slow, bugs-infested and unreliable. So much so that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which powers e-ticketing through its website, regularly finds itself on the defensive in the court of social media. “At peak hour of ticket booking, say 8 am, it’s pure luck if the booking request goes through at first attempt,” says Avik Banerjee, a Kolkata-based medical representative who travels frequently by train within West Bengal. “The queues at the counters are slow, the server is sometimes down, and by the time it restarts, confirmed tickets are sold out.” This is a familiar pain point for anyone who has ever tried booking a railway ticket in India. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far,” they said. A parcel van was among the derailed coaches. The 22850 Secunderabad – Shalimar Weekly Express was passing through Nalpur station in Kharagpur Division when the coaches derailed, officials said. The railways said an accident relief train and medical relief trains from Santragachi and Kharagpur were immediately dispatched for assistance. The weekly special train derailed in Nalpur, about 40 km from Kolkata. No casualties or major injuries have been reported so far. “A parcel van and two coaches of 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Express derailed while passing through Nalpur station of Kharagpur Division at 5.31 am today. As reported, there is no major injury and casualty,” said South Eastern Railway. The derailment occurred when the train was shifting from the middle to the outer tracks, said officials. Relief trains and medical help from Santragachhi and Kharagpur have reached the derailment site. Buses have also been arranged to take the stranded passengers to their destination. 4 Coaches, Engine Of Superfast Train Derail In Rajasthan’s Ajmer, No Casualties

The injured have been taken to Ajmer station for treatment. Several passengers were injured after four coaches and engine of a superfast train derailed near Madar railway station in Rajasthan’s Ajmer. The incident is said to have happened late at 1:00 am in the night. According to officials four coaches along with the engine of the Sabarmati-Agra superfast train derailed near the Madar railway station. Soon rescue teams reached to the spot. While no casualties have been reported in the incident, several passengers are said to have suffered minor injuries. The injured have been taken to Ajmer station for treatment. The passengers said that the incident happened at around 1:00 am. They were sleeping when suddenly they heard a loud noise, the passengers said. Rescue teams including Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) along with Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) and senior officials are on the spot.
