Fire guts EV showroom, three shops in Surat; several electric vehicles damaged
Several electric vehicles were damaged after a fire gutted an EV showroom and three other shops in Gujarat”s Surat city on Thursday morning, officials said. No person was injured in the incident which occurred in the Adajan area, they said. Flames and smoke covered the area, causing panic among people. The fire started in the EV showroom, and batteries and other spare parts used in the vehicles intensified it, causing the blaze to spread rapidly to adjacent shops, the officials said. Several Electric Vehicles (EVs) were gutted in the fire, they said. The city’s fire control room received a message about the major blaze in the Adajan area at around 9.30 am.
