A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl was allegedly kidnapped from her home in Maval taluka of Pune district, was sexually assaulted and brutally strangled to death by a man living in the same neighbourhood and known to the victim’s family, the Pimpri Chinchwad police said. Police have arrested the 32-year-old suspect in the early hours of Sunday. A case in this regard was registered at a police station under the Pimpri Chinchwad police jurisdiction. “Both parents of the girl were at work on Saturday evening. In the night, when the mother returned home, she found that the girl was nowhere to be seen. The family searched for her in the area but she could not be found. Late in the night on Saturday, around 11.30 pm, the family approached the police and reported the girl missing.” said an officer from the police station. “Since it was a case of a minor girl missing, a kidnapping case was registered.
