The girls’ doubles pair of Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick clinched a silver medal as India ended their campaign at the 2026 Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships with a total of four medals in Bangkok on Saturday. Competing in the U19 age group, Das and Bhowmick went down 14-16, 11-7, 11-9, 3-11, 6-11 in a hard fought battle in the final against Japan’s Takahashi Aoba and Takeya Misuzu. Earlier in the day, Das, who had finished as the women’s singles runner-up at the Indian national championships this year, finished with a bronze medal in U19 girls’ singles. India added two more assured medals at the ITTF-ATTU Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships in Bangkok on Friday, with Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick reaching the U-19 girls’ doubles final and Syndrela advancing to the singles semifinals. The Indian pair produced a spirited comeback to defeat China’s Yao Ruixuan and Jiang Yiyi 7-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6 in the doubles semifinals. India’s Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick combined to win the 2026 WTT Feeder Cappadocia title in Turkey on Friday. Das and Bhowmick, who entered the main draw as the wild cards, scripted a fairly tale run to beat the top seeded Ng Win Lam and Wong Hoi Tung of Hong Kong 3-1 in the final. The Indians did not have the best of starts in the title clash as Ng and Wong raced to pocket the opening game 11-3 within the blink of an eye. The Indian women’s doubles pair of Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick stormed into the final of the 2026 WTT Feeder in Cappadocia, Turkey on Thursday. The teenaged duo of Das and Bhowmick beat Romania’s Elena Zaharia and Ioana Singeorzan 11-3, 11-3, 6-11, 11-7 in just under 25 minutes. The Indians dominated the opening two games rather comfortably, before slipping up in the third.
