BCCI Awards | The great Indian flex: Trophies and talents | Cricket News

BCCI’s various winners at its annual awards on Sunday, celebrating a year when India picked 5 ICC trophies, across men and women, could be carbon-dated in various ways. The journey from determination to dominance, can literally be gauged by their cars, mobile phones, movies and video games, of the day. Rahul Dravid recalled getting a lift from fellow Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Roger Binny back to his Indiranagar home, while chewing the 1983 World Cup winner’s brains about cricket, riding in a FIAT, “which was the Ferrari of that time.” Abhishek Sharma recalled going to a state camp with a Samsung mobile, where “only Shubman Gill had an IPhone”, Sanju Samson’s first was a Motorola with a flap, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, carries two phones, his seniors informed with a chuckle. Hardik Pandya’s first vehicle was a Maruti 800, Samson’s a Wagon R and Abhishek’s an Activa scooty. Hardik’s favourite movie remained the 1998 Godzilla, Sooryavanshi’s Dhurandhar, while Abhishek digs 3 Idiots. While Samson grew up playing Grand Theft Auto and Abhishek Cricket 07, the teenaged …

Countries creating roadblocks in flow of talents across borders will be ‘net losers’: Jaishankar on issues linked to immigration, H-1B visas

Countries creating too many roadblocks in flow of professionals across borders will be “net losers” and India needs to convince other nations that the use of talent is for mutual benefit, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on Wednesday (December 3, 2025). His comments at an interactive session at a conclave on mobility came against the backdrop of concerns over the U.S.’s decision to impose new fees on H-1B visas in line with the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration. “That they would be net losers if they erect too many roadblocks to the flow of talent. Particularly if you move into an era of advanced manufacturing, you will need more talent,” Mr. Jaishankar said. He was responding to a question on the larger issues linked to immigration including concerns over the H-1B visa programme. Without naming any country, Jaishankar said India needs to convince other nations that the use of “talent across boundaries is to our mutual benefit. “Often the people in the forefront of entrepreneurship and technology would actually make the case for mobility. …

“They’ve Got a Huge Amount” James Anderson Backs India’s Talents’ to Fill Virat Kohli, Rohit Void

Former England pacer James Anderson has praised Virat Kohli as one of the greatest batters ever to play test cricket, and believes that India possesses the capability to fill up the voids left by the star batter. Within six months of the gap, three cricketers, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, have announced their retirement. They are an integral part of India’s test squad, and filling their gaps will be tough for the side. However, Virat Kohli’s sudden retirement has shocked everyone. Kohli has an illustrious career with 9230 runs in 123 matches, including a stellar 30 centuries and 31 fifties. He hung up his spikes as the fourth most successful test captain overall, behind Graeme Smith (53 Wins), Ricky Ponting (48 wins), and Steve Waugh (41 Wins). Sumo movie review: Comic talents are squandered in this comedy that needed more absurdity, less drama | Movie-review News

Sumo movie review: The first time you meet Yoshinori Tashiro in Shiva’s latest film, Sumo, he is wearing a mawashi, the outfit worn by Sumo wrestlers. Apparently, he washed up the shores of Chennai, and has the mental makeup of a 1.5-year-old child. And somehow, that means, the wrestler’s only focus is to satiate his tremendous appetite. He finds an immediate connection with Shiva (Shiva) because… well, you need a reason for the movie to move on, and they didn’t find anything else to do. Willing suspension of disbelief, anyone? After this point, we are asked to willingly suspend our disbelief on multiple occasions, and we would have done exactly that if the film didn’t abruptly shift tones in every second scene to thrust a sense of reality in the world of absurdity. This is a world where the sudden entrant into the world of Shiva is named Ganesh, because you know… he is the god with the paunch? Ganesh is hungry, and is fed with biscuits, lollipops and sandwiches. However, he is suddenly enrolled …

He started off with handy knocks of 41, 38 not out on his Test debut. He further scored 42, 42 before bettering it with a maiden Test century in Melbourne, providing a much-needed contribution from the lower order. “If we talk about the macro picture, like we saw with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Yashasvi Jaiswal – they are hungry.
