The meeting of the Southern Zonal Council is expected to take up a range of inter-state and national issues concerning the participating states and Union Territories. Shah will lead the deliberations of the 31st meeting of the Southern Zonal Council at a seaside resort in Kovalam, on the outskirts of Chennai. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay comfortably won the trust vote in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, securing support from alliance partners as well as a section of rebel AIADMK legislators.
