Newly sworn-in West Bengal ministers were allocated portfolios on Wednesday. While Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari kept the Department of Home and Hill affairs, Swapan Dasgupta was given charge of the finance department, and Tapas Roy was named industries minister.  The portfolios were distributed among 13 Cabinet ministers and 22 ministers of state, including three with independent charge. Near the Firingi Kalibari Temple in Bowbazar, hundreds of BJP supporters hit the roads with three tableaux, featuring dances to Rabindra Sangeet, as well as the dhunuchi (traditional Bengali incense burner), the dhaki (drum), and Chhau dancers.
