TCS Nashik case: Hearing on Nida Khan`s bail plea deferred to June 12

A court in Nashik on Saturday deferred the hearing on the bail application of Nida Khan, an accused in the alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion case at Tata Consultancy Services` (TCS) Nashik unit, to June 12. Additional Sessions Judge KG Joshi (Nashik Road) adjourned the matter and scheduled the next hearing for June 12. The bail pleas filed by co-accused Danish Sheikh and Tausif Attar will also be heard on the same day, news agency PTI reported. Khan was arrested from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and remanded in judicial custody on May 11. Her custody was later extended, and her bail plea was listed for hearing on Saturday. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik Police on Monday summoned AIMIM corporator Mateen Patel from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for questioning in connection with the alleged harassment case linked to Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) Nashik BPO unit, officials said, reported IANS.  Summoned under BNSS provisions Mateen Patel has been summoned for questioning under the relevant Section of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to investigate certain facts related to the case and his alleged assistance to the accused, Nida Khan. Many victims who wanted to complain could not do so due to “complete absence of any formal complaint mechanism and a trustworthy environment”, the NCW’s fact-finding committee said, adding Gen Z employees were more susceptible to anti-religious discourse.
