Maharashtra: Beed Collector reviews railway land issues across three tehsils
Beed Collector Vivek Johnson visited several sites in Wadwani, Dharur and Parli tehsils to resolve land acquisition hurdles for railway projects, hearing grievances from stakeholders, officials said on Sunday. Work on the ambitious Beed–Parli Vaijnath railway corridor project is currently underway. The project is being seen as a game-changer for the district and the region, as it will improve connectivity to Mumbai and Pune, two of Maharashtra’s largest cities and major economic hubs, PTI reported. During the field visit, Johnson, accompanied by railway, district and state officials, reviewed sites in Bavi and Lonwal villages in Wadwani tehsil and examined technical issues that had stalled land acquisition, an official said. “The collector also looked into grievances raised by residents of Deodahiphal, Chatgaon and Fakir Jawala villages in Dharur tehsil. He visited Parli, Khamgaon, Tapovan, Mulnatpur, Bahadurwadi, Tokwadi and Brahmwadi, where he interacted with farmers and affected citizens,” the official added, the news agency reported.
