CS wants officials to speed up process for high-speed rail corridors; Railways urge govt to acquire land for rail depots

Ramakrishna Rao on Friday (May 15, 2026) has directed the officials to speed up the process of land acquisition, providing connectivity, development of amenities pertaining to the proposed high-speed rail corridors sanctioned to the State. The extent of the land required were discussed at a review meeting, held by the Chief Secretary on the three high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai and land needed for rail depots. Officials from Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Railways, and representatives of GMR Airport attended the meeting held in Hyderabad on Friday (May 15, 2026). Railway officials informed that the detailed project report (DPR) pertaining to Hyderabad-Pune-Mumbai high speed rail corridor was ready, incorporating proposals for infrastructure on the line for a length of 671 km.
