The Transport, Roads and Buildings Department has notified that challans issued under Rule 167(1) or Rule 167(2) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, may be served through electronic means. According to the order, the notification follows amendments made earlier this year by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules. The government stated that all vehicle owners are required to update their mobile phone numbers and e-mail addresses on the VAHAN portal within one month from the date of publication of the notification. After the expiry of the one-month period, any challan sent electronically through these three modes to the contact details recorded on the VAHAN portal shall be deemed to have been duly served on the vehicle owner, the notification stated. …

The drugs are often abused for their sedative effects, leading to addiction and dependence. Continued misuse or overdose can result in respiratory depression, seizures, coma and even death, officials said. According to DCA officials, V. Raju and V. Savitha, who run SVR Medicals in Sri Nagar Colony, Ramanthapur, were found selling habit-forming medicines indiscriminately. Stocks of the drugs, along with records related to their sale, were seized during the operation. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday said it has intensified efforts to secure its On-Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system amid the ongoing controversy over the process. The board, in a post on X, said a team of cybersecurity experts from various government agencies and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) has been working over the past few days to strengthen the security of the OnMark portal, which is operated by its service provider. 51.1% of women in Telangana have completed 10 or more years of schooling, according to National Family Health Survey (NFHS-6), up from 45.5% recorded in NFHS-5 (2019-21) Women in Telangana are more educated, digitally connected and financially empowered than ever before, according to findings from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-6). Yet, the survey also highlights a stark reality: nearly one in three ever-married women in the State report having experienced spousal violence. The survey, released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, paints a picture of social progress across a range of indicators related to women’s education, access to technology, financial inclusion and participation in household decision-making.
