Naga Chaitanya had moved court for the protection of his personality rights. Delhi HC protects Naga Chaitanya’s personality rights On Monday, Justice Jyoti Singh passed the order while hearing a commercial suit filed by the actor seeking protection of his personality and publicity rights. During a recent appearance on The Newshour on Times Now, Janhvi reflected on the differences between film sets in Mumbai and the South, revealing that the structured and disciplined approach of Telugu productions particularly stood out to her. Telugu exhibitors’ revenue share demand claims Jetlee as first victim, Ram Charan’s Peddi to suffer too | Telugu News

Telugu exhibitors’ revenue share demand claims Jetlee as first victim, Ram Charan’s Peddi to suffer too | Telugu News

5 min readHyderabadUpdated: May 3, 2026 02:59 PM IST A long-running disagreement between Telugu film producers and theatre owners over the revenue-sharing model has escalated, with the Mythri Movie Makers-presented film Jetlee losing screens on its opening day in Telangana. The reason had nothing to do with the film itself. Mythri Movie Makers, which presented Jetlee, has refused to accept a percentage-based revenue-sharing model that a group of exhibitors in Telangana are now demanding. Those exhibitors on Friday responded by simply not scheduling the film. Amid all the chaos, Peddi, Ram Charan’s next film, is due on June 4. That is the problem Telugu cinema is now staring at because Peddi will be distributed by Mythri Movie Makers. What the CEO said The issue came up at the Jetlee success meet held in Hyderabad on Saturday, where Mythri CEO Cherry spoke what happened it with Jetlee, and how it’ll pan out for Peddi. He confirmed that negotiations between producers and exhibitors had continued until late on the night of April 30 and ended without agreement, …

How Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu carried Telugu cinema through the first quarter of 2026 | Telugu News

One megastar. One blockbuster. Forty-odd films. That sums up Telugu cinema in the first three months of 2026, and it is as lopsided as it sounds. The first quarter followed a pattern that is becoming increasingly familiar in Tollywood: a festive rush in January that flatters the numbers, a February that exposes the pipeline’s fragility, and a March that arrives with hope but leaves with headlines of another big star’s box-office stumble. Sankranthi week always inflates Telugu cinema’s January numbers, and 2026 was no different. The difference this time was just how stark the gap was between the season’s one genuine success and everything else. Prabhas’ The Raja Saab arrived on January 9 carrying enormous weight. The actor was coming off Kalki 2898 AD, his biggest commercial outing yet, and director Maruthi had a solid track record. The horror-comedy premise was novel for a film of this scale. Opening day collections looked healthy at around Rs 100 crore worldwide. However, the film ended its run at Rs 146.04 crore India net as per Sacnilk, against …

Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh dominates Dhurandhar 2: The Telugu box office clash no one can call yet | Telugu News

Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh dominates Dhurandhar 2: The Telugu box office clash no one can call yet | Telugu News

As two of the most anticipated Telugu releases prepare to hit screens on Thursday, the mood across the exhibition circuit is a mix of cautious optimism and honest concern. Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, heads into a direct clash with Dhurandhar 2, and early signals from the ground are telling a layered story. Dhurandhar 2, made primarily in Hindi, has been dubbed in Telugu after seeing audience response to the first iteration of the film. On the exhibition side, there is little ambiguity about where the majority of the trade has placed its bet. A. Srinu, who operates multiple single-screen theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, says the preference has been decisive. “90% of single-screen theatres across both states have given preference to Ustaad Bhagat Singh. The occupancy rates have been strong as well,” he said. That kind of dominance on the single-screen circuit, which has historically driven first-week collections for mass entertainers in the Telugu belt, is a solid foundation to build on. Single screens tend to draw the core, loyal audience segment …

Adivi Sesh says India is a ‘nepo country’, it’s ‘a matter of earning respect’ of Telugu film industry’s film families: ‘I was too American for India’ | Telugu News

Adivi Sesh may be a pan-India star now with Major (2022) and Goodachari (2018), but he had to travel a long road to get there. Having been raised in San Francisco in the US, Sesh had his share of struggles before he could break into the Telugu film industry, which is dominated by legacy film families. In this edition of SCREEN Spotlight, the actor-writer-producer talks about his journey, influences of Ram Gopal Varma, and his short stint on the sets of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning (2015). Ram Gopal Varma had a huge role to play in you becoming an actor after you watched Satya (1998), right? Oh yeah, he was extremely influential. It was at the time of Company (2002) that I thought I’d come to India and become a hero in a cutting-edge Ram Gopal Varma gangster film (laughs). I didn’t know that’s not how it happens. Try explaining that to a 15-year-old. In the world cinema class at my college, I showed Company as an example of what India can do. Because …

Ram Charan-Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi postponed; to release on April 30 | Telugu News

The April 30 date also provides breathing room from other major releases. #PEDDI will see you on 30th APRIL, 2026 💪🏻🔥@NimmaShivanna #JanhviKapoor @BuchiBabuSana @arrahman @vriddhicinemas @VenkataSKilaru @MythriOfficial @SukumarWritings @PeddiMovieOffl pic.twitter.com/TTfrxi773W — Ram Charan (@AlwaysRamCharan) February 4, 2026 ALSO READ: Chiranjeevi’s ‘have a boy’ advice for Ram Charan resurfaces as actor welcomes twins; Lavanya Tripathi defends: ‘Very few men can do…’ The film, which has been in production since November 2024, features Ram Charan as an athlete in what’s being described as a rustic, emotionally charged sports drama set against rural backdrops. Anaganaga Oka Raju review: Naveen Polishetty charms his way through a fun, albeit cliched, ride | Movie-review News

Anaganaga Oka Raju review: Naveen Polishetty charms his way through a fun, albeit cliched, ride | Movie-review News

In a Sankranthi race involving the biggest names like Prabhas, Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja, it is, indeed, charming to note that the hopes were pinned more on the relatively new star, Naveen Polishetty. The fact might not surprise many, given the actor’s recent record – including comedy hits such as Jathi Rathnalu and Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty – and with Naveen himself (partly) taking over the reins of his latest release as the co-writer (with Chinmayi, also the creative director), the expectations were sure to be high. The 36-year-old actor delivers as expected, albeit with a few notable stumbles along the way, to make his maiden festive run an enjoyable one. Raju (Polishetty) is what the internet would term a ‘self-dabba’ character, someone who blows his own trumpet and asks you to take notice before you go deaf. Despite being the grandson of a zamindar, Raju isn’t conventionally rich, but the reputation and glory are held on to with all his might: the self-proclaimed king won’t climb stairs but will be carried on another man’s …
