‘I feel terribly guilty’: Imtiaz Ali on fans leaving careers after watching Tamasha | Bollywood News

3 min readNew DelhiMay 28, 2026 09:52 PM IST When Tamasha released in 2015, it failed to create the kind of impact makers expected. Coming after the success of Rockstar, it was supposed to be the next big collaboration between Imtiaz Ali and Ranbir Kapoor. Instead, the film was largely misunderstood and underperformed commercially. Over the years, however, Tamasha evolved into a cult classic — especially among millennials who saw their own emotional exhaustion reflected in Ved’s journey of feeling trapped in a routine life. For many viewers, the movie became more than just cinema; it became a wake-up call that pushed them to rethink their careers, identities, and idea of happiness. Ironically, that impact now makes Imtiaz feel guilty. During the promotions of his upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, the filmmaker recalled attending a writers’ convention organised by Boman Irani and being overwhelmed by what people told him there. Speaking to News18, Imtiaz shared, “I feel terribly guilty. Recently, I attended Boman Irani’s Spiral Bound, which was a beautifully organised writers’ convention. A lot …

Ravichandran Ashwin Feels ‘Terribly Bad’ For This Star, Who Isn’t Part Of An “Easy Dressing Room”

India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has offered his sympathy to Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood following the team’s disappointing series loss against Bangladesh. Earlier this month, Bangladesh scripted history by beating Pakistan for the first time ever in a Test series, pulling off a 2-0 series sweep in Rawalpindi. Following the loss, Shan has come under scrutiny for his leadership, with former players suggesting that the star batter has not been able to lift the spirits inside the dressing room. Pakistan sit eighth in the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle and are yet to win a Test so far. However, Ashwin threw his weight behind Shan, calling him as a great choice of captaincy for Pakistan due to his cricketing acumen. Ashwin feels that managing the dressing room won’t be an easy job for Shan, especially due to Babar Azam, the poster boy of Pakistan cricket, no longer part of the leadership group. “I feel terribly bad for someone like Shan Masood. Shan Masood is a very smart cricketer. I know that guy. …
