The deceased has been identified as Yedukondalu, a native of Cherukumudi village in Manubolu mandal of the district. His family members and relatives alleged that he died due to ‘third-degree torture’ for three days while in custody at Manubolu police station. Former Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy and MLC Meriga Muralidhar visited Gudur Government Hospital to inspect Yedukondalu’s body. Bijnor , Police have arrested four people, including a man and his two brothers, for allegedly stealing gold and silver jewellery worth crores of rupees from his father-in-law’s house in Nahtaur area here, officials said on Saturday. Khargone: A man who stole Rs 2.45 lakh from a shop in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district left behind a letter seeking forgiveness for the act committed on Ram Navami, his struggles with debt and constant hounding by creditors as well a promise to return the amount in six months, a police official said on Monday. The theft took place at the shop of Jujar Ali Bohra in Jamidar Mohalla under Kotwali police station limits in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, Kotwali police station assistant sub-inspector Arshad Khan said. “The thief left behind a typed letter in which he addressed the shop owner as Jujar Bhai. The shop owner has told us he had kept Rs 2.84 lakh in a bag, of which around Rs 2.45 lakh was stolen, while Rs 38,000 remained. Unidentified persons stole cash worth Rs 35 lakh from music director Ismail Darbar’s ancestral house in Sagrampura area of Surat, said police Monday, adding a probe has been launched into the matter, however, no police complaint has been registered yet.
