Michael Bracewell To Lead New Zealand In Pakistan ODIs As Tom Latham Ruled Out Due To…

Head coach Gary Stead confirmed Henry Nicholls would replace Tom Latham.© AFP New Zealand wicket-keeper batter Tom Latham has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan with a fractured right hand, New Zealand Cricket said on Thursday. Latham was struck on the hand by a delivery while batting in the nets during training this week, with an X-ray revealing the fracture which will require a cast and at least four weeks rest and rehabilitation. Head coach Gary Stead confirmed Henry Nicholls would replace Latham in the squad, with current T20I captain Michael Bracewell to continue to lead in the ODIs, with Mitch Hay taking the wicket-keeping gloves. “Henry’s been in good form since returning from his three month injury lay-off and he’ll add valuable skills and experience to the team. It’s obviously disappointing to lose Tom as captain on the eve of the series and we wish him a speedy recovery. The side is in safe hands with Michael who’s done a great job through the T20I series,” Stead said. …

Rohit Sharma Ignores KL Rahul’s Advice And Goes With Ravindra Jadeja’s Call. India Pay Price In CT 2025 Final

Team India in action© AFP The final match of Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand on Sunday had a disappointing moment for Rohit Sharma and co. Opting to bat first, the Blackcaps had a decent start with the openers scoring staying unbeaten till 8 overs. However, Indian bounced back in style and scalped three wickets in the next five overs, reducing New Zealand to 75/3 in 12.2 overs. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav took wickets while Varun Chakarvarthy took one. As India were aiming for their fourth breakthrough, they faced a huge blow. In 22nd over, Rohit Sharma handed over the ball to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as the Kiwis were steady in the game, courtesy of Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell‘s partnership. On the fourth delivery of the over, Jadeja struck on Latham’s pads and appealed for LBW. The on-field signalled not out and Rohit came and discussed with his teammates about the situation. While wicketkeeper KL Rahul was reluctant about taking a DRS, Jadeja convinced Rohit to use the review. As India …

Mohammed Rizwan Blasts Shaheen Afridi Even After A Good Delivery vs New Zealand, Gets Sharp Retort. Video

Tempers flared during the Pakistan vs New Zealand Champions Trophy opener in Karachi on Wednesday with the hosts’ bowlers coming under the pump from the latter’s batters. Tom Latham (118*) and Will Young (107) scored fine centuries as New Zealand scored 320/5 in 50 overs. The famed Pakistan bowling line-up came under pressure with Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah conceding over six runs per over. Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan lost his cool quite often. But the starkest one happened in the  47th over. It happened when Latham was troubled by a delivery from Shaheen but the resulting outside edge saw the ball racing to the boundary. There looked nothing wrong with the delivery but Rizwan visibly lost his cool. He was quite aggressive as he gestures something towards Shaheen. However, the former Pakistan captain did not stay quiet and retorted quite sharply. Former New Zealand quick Simon Doull, who was commentating, was clear in his assessment: “I’m sorry, but you cannot be having a go at the bowler there. It was a genuinely …

3rd Test: New Zealand Crush England To Send Tim Southee Out On A High

New Zealand tore through England’s batting Tuesday to crush the visitors by 423 runs in the third Test and send Tim Southee into retirement on a triumphant note. The hosts sealed a dominant performance in Hamilton by claiming seven wickets in 41.2 overs on day four as England crumbled for 234. It was New Zealand’s equal highest victory by runs and a complete reversal from the first two Tests, which England won easily to clinch the three-match series. Playing on his home ground at Seddon Park, seamer Southee finished with 2-34 in his 107th and final Test, ending the career of one of New Zealand’s finest players.  He finishes with 391 Test wickets, second only to Richard Hadlee among New Zealanders. “I want to thank New Zealand Cricket for everything you have done. My family, who are there for the ride and see the ups and downs,” said the 36-year-old Southee. “And my team-mates. These guys have made the ride so much more enjoyable, I have loved every minute. “And finally the fans. …

Ben Stokes’ Sharp Swipe At ICC After England’s World Test Championship Points Deduction

Ben Stokes’ Sharp Swipe At ICC After England’s World Test Championship Points Deduction

England Test captain Ben Stokes hit back at the International Cricket Council (ICC) following a slow-over-rate penalty on his team after the first Test against New Zealand at Christchurch, claiming that the match was finished with “10 hours of play still left”. The race to the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final gained a lot of spice and intensity as New Zealand and England were docked three points each for maintaining a slow over-rate in the opening Test of their three-match series. On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced sanctions against New Zealand and England for failing to maintain the required over-rate during the series opener in Christchurch. As a result, both teams were fined 15 per cent of their match fees and penalised three crucial WTC competition points, adding another layer of intrigue to the race for the final. Taking to Instagram, Stokes said, “Good on you ICC (accompanied by three shrugging emojis). “Finished the game with 10 hours of play still left.” Ben Stokes’ Instagram story. pic.twitter.com/X2GYPilr2U — …

“Good Captain, Good Man”: Rohit Sharma’s New Zealand Counterpart Tom Latham Given The Highest Praise

“Good Captain, Good Man”: Rohit Sharma’s New Zealand Counterpart Tom Latham Given The Highest Praise

New Zealand’s (NZ) historic 3-0 series whitewash against India has been met with high praise, particularly for the leadership of new captain Tom Latham. Former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond commended Latham’s captaincy, crediting both his individual performance and the foundation laid by former captain Tim Southee. “Great start to your captaincy reign! I think you’ve got to pay some credit to Tim Southee, who was magnanimous enough to step down and say, ‘look, it’s someone else’s time’, and Tom would have reaped the rewards of a lot of the work that Tim’s done over the last few years. But I know Latham’s a very good captain, good man, and good leader. I thought the innings he played in the Pune Test was the best innings I’ve seen him play, leading from the front,” Bond said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. Bond also highlighted the strategic changes that contributed to New Zealand’s success in India. He pointed out the importance of having versatile bowlers like Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra, who have developed …

“This Is Embarrassing”: Internet Fumes As India Hit Historic Low Against New Zealand

Packed with proven performers, Indian team seemed like a bunch of clueless cricketers as it endured an unprecedented and humiliating 0-3 whitewash at the hands of a resolute New Zealand with a 25-run defeat in the third Test, a result that put the home side to its lowest ebb on Sunday. A courageous Rishabh Pant raised hopes of a great escape with his valiant 64-run knock but once he trudged back to the pavilion following a contentious third-umpire call, the Indian fortress, that had been breached twice in this series before, was completed raged by the Black Caps. This is embarrassing display by team India at home. Lot to ponder over by the decision makers. Well done New Zealand on such a terrific performance. — Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) November 3, 2024 In pursuit of a manageable 147, India’s famed batters, a few classified as modern-day greats, were a picture of pity as they all folded for 121. We switched from the golden era of the Indian team to the garbage …
