The decision came amid heightened security concerns in J&K’s Anantnag district following last month’s terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists. As the transfer takes effect, Reyaz Ahmad, the current Pahalgam SHO, will move to District Police Lines, Anantnag, while Peer Gulzar Ahmad will assume the role of Pahalgam SHO.
