Many autos, bikes and taxis were seen parked at bus and railway stations and other public places in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and other cities in the State. In response to the nation-wide strike call given by various unions, the auto, bike and taxi drivers observed strike. Drivers are not accepting the orders placed by the customers. Operators of the app-based transport services are demanding implementation of minimum base fare, a check on illegal transport vehicles among other demands. Uber and WeRide are now deploying fully driverless vehicles as part of its robotaxi service in the United Arab Emarites. Customers in Abu Dhabi who request an UberX or Uber Comfort may be matched with a fully autonomous WeRide vehicle if the route is part of the company’s service area. Uber and Chinese autonomous vehicle operator WeRide first launched their robotaxi service with safety drivers back in December 2024. At the time, the companies they anticipated pulling safety drivers out of the vehicles the following year. Initially, the fully autonomous vehicles will only be available in select locations throughout the 12 square miles of Yas Island, a popular tourist destination in Abu Dhabi. The US Consumer Protection Safety Commission issued a stark warning about some of Rad Power Bikes’ e-bike batteries Monday, linking them to dozens of fires and saying they “pose a risk of serious injury and death.” The batteries can “unexpectedly ignite and explode,” especially when water or debris leaks in to cells or the harness, the agency says. CPSC says there have been 31 fires, including 12 reports of property damage totaling $734,500, some of which occurred when the battery was not charging and the bike was in storage or not in use. No injuries were reported as a result of the fires. The following models are included in the CPSC warning: RadWagon 4, RadCity HS 4, RadRover High Step 5, RadCity Step Thru 3, RadRover Step Thru 1, RadRunner 2, RadRunner 1, RadRunner Plus, and RadExpand 5. Next year, instead of a new game, the company will opt to release a paid expansion for F1 25 as part of “a strategic reset for the F1 Franchise,” EA says. The next full F1 game, a “reimagined” experience, will arrive in 2027.
