A resolution to this effect was adopted at a virtual meeting of the MPs, attended among others by party president M.K. Stalin from London. The resolution said Karnataka had failed to comply with the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal by not releasing Tamil Nadu’s due share of water. “The Mettur Dam could not be opened because of Karnataka’s recalcitrant stand. This has caused enormous hardship to farmers,” a resolution adopted at the meeting said. Six AI-hallucinated judgments formed the basis for the Supreme Court’s striking down of an order passed by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Thursday. Three of the cited judgments did not exist, while the remaining three either did not contain the propositions attributed to them or did not correspond to the context for which they were cited. For instance, the NCLT order cited a 2019 judgment ICICI Bank Ltd v Urban Infrastructure Real Estate Ltd., which did not exist. The Tribunal also took note of the reply of Solan Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Samir Raj, who has denied the allegations. A bench comprising judicial member Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi and expert member A Senthil Vel passed the order while hearing a suo motu petition. The Tribunal took on record the replies filed by the DFO and the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) on June 27. The pollution board in its reply said the area and act of illegal felling doesn’t come under its purview. A tribunal in Maharashtra`s Latur district has restored the property rights of an 89-year-old woman after cancelling a gift deed through which she had transferred agricultural land to her grandson and great-grandson, reported the PTI. The tribunal ruled that the beneficiaries failed to fulfil their commitment to provide care and maintenance to the elderly woman, a condition under which the property had been transferred. According to case records, Housabai Lahade had transferred around three hectares of agricultural land in Karsa village through a registered gift deed in favour of her grandson and great-grandson. The transfer was reportedly made on the understanding that they would look after her and provide support during her old age. However, the woman later alleged that the beneficiaries failed to meet their obligations, prompting her to approach the Senior Citizens Tribunal under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, according to the PTI. The Union Government has notified the National Sports Governance (National Sports Board) Rules, 2026 and the National Sports Governance (National Sports Tribunal) Rules, 2026 under the provisions of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025. The National Sports Governance (National Sports Board) Rules, 2026 provide for the composition of the Board, term of office of the Chairperson and Members, salary, allowances and other conditions of service, as well as the powers and functions of the Board. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in its reply before the National Green Tribunal (NGT), on Wednesday termed the landslide in Shimla that allegedly damaged agricultural land and around 550 apple plants worth around Rs 40 lakh in Mashobra last year as an “act of God”. To support its submission, the NHAI placed on record a May 2025 report of the India Meteorological Department, stating that Shimla recorded 104.5 mm rainfall against the normal rainfall of 69.8 mm during the period, reflecting a departure of nearly 50 per cent. The response was filed in a petition moved by orchardist Narender Singh Rathore from the Mashobra block, who moved NGT in 2025, stating that he suffered a huge loss due to the collapse of crate walls during NHAI’s construction work. The work was being carried out under the four-lane project in the Shakral Village-Dhalli section of the Kaithlighat-Dhalli stretch of National Highway-5 (NH-5). It stated that Goel will be the “single point of contact” between the EC, the judges of the Appellate Tribunals, and the Calcutta High Court.
