The successive fuel price hikes have impacted other sectors as well. The bustling vegetable market in Ernakulam, primarily dependent on supplies from neighbouring States, is preparing for an inevitable price rise, with transporters likely to increase their charges shortly. Supplies to the market mostly come from Oddanchatram and Pazhani in Dindigul district, Coimbatore, and Cumbum in Theni district of Tamil Nadu, …

(Photo: AP) Chinese President Xi Jinping invoked the idea of the “Thucydides Trap” during his high-stakes meeting with US President Donald Trump in Beijing, framing it as a defining challenge in ties between the world’s two largest powers. Ahead of their talks, Xi asked whether both countries could “overcome the Thucydides Trap and create a new paradigm of major country relations,” according to reports cited by CNBC. The remark came alongside a warning on Taiwan tensions, with Beijing asserting that “‘Taiwan independence’ and cross-Strait peace are as irreconcilable as fire and water,” as per China’s foreign ministry. People around Iyer would often say certain things would no longer be possible for him to do, especially after injuries. “When I had my back injury, some people said I would never be the same again. I asked myself, ‘why can’t I be?’ The way you shape your mindset after an injury is important. You choose what to focus on and what to ignore,” Iyer said on JioHotstar’s ‘Believe’. He then spoke about how he applied the same mindset to his short-ball problem and how he fixed the issue. IPL 2026: How ex-cricketer cop beat algorithm, traffic to trigger green corridor and get Lungi Ngidi to hospital in 11 minutes | Cricket News

A drive that usually takes 25-30 minutes through central Delhi’s evening traffic was cut to just 11 minutes on Saturday, as a rare “green corridor” rushed South African bowler Lungi Ngidi from Feroz Shah Kotla to BLK Max Hospital in Rajender Nagar after a heavy on-field fall during an IPL match. At the centre of the operation was ACP Sanjay Singh, an ex-cricketer who has shared the field with Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. Ngidi fell on his neck and head while attempting a catch at mid-off during the clash between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. He was treated on the field, but concern over the severity of the injury quickly escalated. At 6:16 pm, an ambulance left the stadium. By 6:27 pm, it had reached the hospital, covering roughly 10 km at peak hour in less than half the usual time. The sequence moved fast, but not by chance. After Hormuz, all eyes on Red Sea: Could Iran trigger a global shipping crisis at Bab al-Mandeb?

Published on Apr 23, 2026 01:48 am IST What happens when the world’s two most critical maritime chokepoints are pushed to the brink, at the same time? The Strait of Hormuz is already under pressure. Now, a new threat is emerging from the Red Sea. Iran’s so-called “new cards” may not be nuclear or diplomatic, they may be geographic. The Bab al-Mandeb, a narrow strip of water most people have never heard of, suddenly becomes the hinge on which global trade swings. But how real is this threat? Can Iran actually pull this off through its regional network? And more importantly, what happens to your fuel prices, supply chains, and economy if it does? From Saudi oil exports to UAE’s Fujairah route, from Asian goods headed to Europe to the hidden cost of rerouting ships around Africa, this is not just a military escalation, it’s an economic shockwave in the making. As Trump extends the deadline and Iran stays unusually quiet, one question looms: is this restraint or preparation?   Home / Videos / World …

Why did JEE Main 2026 answer keys trigger objections from students? | Education News

After releasing the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 provisional answer keys last week, the National Testing Agency (NTA) found itself at the centre of controversy, with students questioning its credibility and seriousness in conducting a national-level engineering exam. The agency issued the provisional keys on April 11 for exams held between April 2 and April 8, and opened the objection window for students. Hours after issuing the JEE Main session two answer keys, students and educators posted on the microblogging site, X, that they had noticed errors in the Chemistry section of the exam that was conducted on April 5 in shift two. Sudhir Tiwari, a student who appeared in the shift, said he was surprised by all the wrong answers in the Chemistry session. “In the January session, too, they released the incorrect physics and math final answer key. Is anyone responsible for verification?” said Tiwari. Some students are facing challenges where none of the responses are recorded in the NTA-released provisional answer keys. Sanjeet Pandey, whose ward Kumari Aditi appeared for April 5, …
