Syria has arrested five people suspected of having links to the shooting of US. (File Photo) Syria has arrested five people suspected of having links to the shooting of US and Syrian troops in the central Syrian town of Palmyra on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday. The Syrian Interior Ministry has described the attacker as a member of the Syrian security forces suspected of sympathising with Islamic State. The attack was barely a month after Syria announced it had signed a political cooperation agreement with the US-led coalition against Islamic State, which coincided with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s visit to the White House. “Our units carried out a precise and decisive security operation in the city of Palmyra, following a cowardly terrorist attack carried out yesterday by an individual affiliated with the Islamic State,” Syria’s Interior Ministry said in a statement. “The operation was conducted in full …

Streets are blocked after reports that two National Guard soldiers were shot near the White House in Washington. (AP Photo) At least two West Virginia National Guard members were shot on Wednesday near the White House in Washington DC in what the Mayor Muriel Bowser described as a “targeted shooting” and the suspect, who was shot at least four times, is in custody and being treated at a hospital. President Donald Trump was in Florida when the ambush took place, Reuters reported. The White House was prompted to go under lockdown as law enforcement agencies from multiple federal and city agencies swarmed the area and the scene near the White House was secured, police said. “What we know is that this is a targeted shooting, one individual appeared to have targeted these guardsmen,” Mayor Bowser said. IDF’s secret war plan revealed: Bibi prepares massive strike on Hezbollah as 12,000 troops mobilized

IDF’s secret war plan revealed: Bibi prepares massive strike on Hezbollah as 12,000 troops mobilized

Published on Nov 11, 2025 09:28 pm IST Israel is ramping up military preparations amid escalating tensions with Hezbollah along the Lebanese border. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced plans to recruit 12,000 new soldiers, including 7,000 for combat units, as reports indicate Hezbollah is rebuilding its arsenal of rockets and anti-tank missiles. Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Lebanon that continued Hezbollah activity would invite stronger Israeli retaliation, accusing Beirut’s leadership of delaying disarmament efforts. Israeli airstrikes have intensified in southern Lebanon despite last year’s truce, which had demanded Hezbollah’s demilitarization. Intelligence reports suggest the group is restocking weapons and reestablishing command networks. Katz declared that Israel would “not allow a threat to the residents of the north,” signaling potential large-scale operations if Hezbollah’s buildup continues. The latest developments indicate Israel’s readiness for a new confrontation on its northern front.   News / Videos / IDF’s secret war plan revealed: Bibi prepares massive strike on Hezbollah as 12,000 troops mobilized Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here. …

Battle of Haifa: When Indian soldiers with lances, swords defeated Turkey’s troops armed with machine guns

Battle of Haifa: When Indian soldiers with lances, swords defeated Turkey’s troops armed with machine guns

Battle of Haifa: Along with the Jodhpur Cavalry and the sixteenth Imperial Cavalry Brigade, soldiers from the Mysore Lancers charged on Turkish positions in and around the city of Haifa in September 1918. New Delhi: The current geopolitical equations are aligned in such a way that India and Turkey find themselves in two different camps. India, which has resorted to strong measures against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, is not getting any support from Turkey and was rather engaged in downing Turkish-made Asisguard Songar drones launched by Pakistan. Therefore, the latest turn of events has taken Indo-Turkish relations to a new low.  While the latest event does not directly link India and Turkey, there’s an episode in history that brings together both the Indian and Turkish perspectives. The convergence point is known as the Battle of Haifa, which epitomised the valour of the Indian troops during the First World War against the Turks.  The Battle of Haifa was one of the greatest achievements of the Indian troops fighting for the British Raj. The Indian soldiers played a crucial …
