But it has also been in the news lately for a viral debate — some fans are praising Dhurandhar for deep-rooted patriotism, while others are calling it a propaganda film. Well, amid the success of Aditya’s Dhurandhar The Revenge, author Harinder Singh Sikka, who wrote Calling Sehmat, expressed regret over ‘appointing’ Meghna Gulzar as the director of his novel’s film adaptation, Raazi (2018). Starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead, Raazi garnered critical acclaim and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films featuring a female lead. (Image: PTI/File) After triggering a row with his remarks on the meaning of “jihad,” Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Madani on Tuesday stood firm on his stance, alleging that the word has been given “negative” connotations by the Centre and state governments. He insisted that historically the term carries a “pious” meaning and refers to the struggle against terrorism, not something sinister. Madani argued that “jihad” is being deliberately misused in public discourse, claiming that phrases such as “love jihad,” “land jihad,” “‘thook’ jihad,” and “vote jihad” are being propagated to malign Muslims. “The entire ministry, be it centre, or be it state, have decided that if anything negative related to Muslims comes to light, it will be called Jihad. Jihad is a pious word. We are fighting for the real meaning of jihad. Jihad is a pious word. We are fighting for …

Speaking with People, Bell said, “You’re walking with your friends, and you trip outside of the Chateau Marmont on your way to the taco shop, and all of a sudden, the next day it’s like, ‘Drake Bell stumbles drunk out of the Chateau Marmont.’” He added, “You’re like, ‘There was a crack! I tripped on the sidewalk!’ It’s always just that highlighting of all of your missteps.” Bell, who is most famous for Drake & Josh, was thankful that he and co-star Josh Peck missed the emergence of social media in their early days. …
