The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has hinted on side’s exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup after Bangladesh was axed from the marquee event. Addressing the press conference, Naqvi said that the Pakistan government will decide Pakistan’s participation in the marquee event. “Whether we play in the T20 World Cup or not, the decision will be taken by the government,” Mr Naqvi said. “Our PM (Shahbaz Sharif) is out of the country. When he comes, we will take advice from him. The decision by the government will be final and binding, and if they say no, then they (ICC) may invite any other team.” This comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board held a meeting after Bangladesh had been officially ruled out of the tournament.
