Jemimah Rodrigues explains why she had to uninstall WhatsApp after ton vs Australia in Women’s World Cup semifinal | Cricket News

Jemimah Rodrigues’ 127 not out against Australia in the semifinal was one of the best innings in the Women’s World cup history, its impact mirroring the iconic 171-run knock Harmanpreet Kaur had played against the Aussies back in the 2017 World Cup. Rodrigues hadn’t had the best of starts in the 2025 World Cup, scoring 0 and 32 against Sri Lanka and Pakistan before notching up another duck against the South Africans in the group stages. She would then find herself out of the playing XI against England but returned in the match against New Zealand where she scored a crucial 76-run knock helping India down the Kiwis. She would then go from strength to strength and played that attritional innings against the Aussies in the semifinals, that went a long way in helping India qualify for the final and ultimately win their first World Cup title. “After the semi-final knock, my phone just kept buzzing and buzzing. I was getting calls from everywhere. I don’t know how random people started getting my number. I …

Microsoft says its Recall uninstall option in Windows 11 is just a bug

While the latest update to Windows 11 makes it look like the upcoming Recall feature can be easily removed by users, Microsoft tells us it’s just a bug and a fix is coming. Deskmodder spotted the change last week in the latest 24H2 version of Windows 11, with KB5041865 seemingly delivering the ability to uninstall Recall from the Windows Features section. “We are aware of an issue where Recall is incorrectly listed as an option under the ‘Turn Windows features on or off’ dialog in Control Panel,” says Windows senior product manager Brandon LeBlanc in a statement to The Verge. “This will be fixed in an upcoming update.” The controversial Recall AI feature, which creates screenshots of mostly everything you see or do on a computer, was originally supposed to debut with Copilot Plus PCs in June. Microsoft was forced to delay the feature after security researchers raised concerns. Microsoft says it remains on track to preview Recall with Windows Insiders on Copilot Plus PCs in October, after the company has had more time to make major …

Apple Could Be Forced to Let iPhone Users Uninstall Photos App in Europe: Report

Apple has reportedly found itself in hot water with the European Union (EU) again. Earlier this year, the EU brought the Digital Markets Act (DMA) into effect with a deadline of March 6. Among many user-centric policies, the act also required consumer tech companies to focus on interoperability and offer an open ecosystem where users have a choice in picking a particular app in a device as the default. While Apple added support for alternative app marketplaces and allowed third-party browsers to run their engine to comply with the act, the EU believes the Photos app is still in violation. On March 25, the European Commission (EC) opened a non-compliance investigation against Apple, Google, and Meta. For Apple, three reasons were listed in the press release which stated, “The Commission has opened proceedings against Apple regarding their measures to comply with obligations to (i) enable end users to easily uninstall any software applications on iOS, (ii) easily change default settings on iOS and (iii) prompt users with choice screens which must effectively and easily allow …

Google Play Store Update Adds Remote App Uninstall Feature: How it Works

Google has updated the Play Store app for Android smartphones and the latest version adds support for a new feature that allows a user to uninstall applications on one device from another smartphone — similar to the existing process of remotely installing Android apps. With the latest Play Store version, you will be able to remove apps not only from other Android smartphones but also from smartwatches running on Wear OS, smart TVs running on Android TV, and Android Auto devices. With version 38.8 of the Google Play store that began rolling out to users last week, the search giant describes a “new feature to help you uninstall apps on connected devices.” The feature will be available for smartphones, computers, smart TVs, automotive systems, and smartwatches, according to the company. The remote uninstall feature is yet to roll out to Android smartphonesPhoto Credit: TheSpAndroid   After downloading and installing the latest update, Gadgets 360 was unable to test the new functionality, which suggests it is being enabled via a server-side switch. Technology blog TheSpAndroid reports that the feature is …
