Stone laid for road development works worth ₹3.02 crore in Vijayawada

RAO Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu on Saturday laid the foundation stone for end-to-end road development works worth ₹3.02 crore in Bharathi Nagar and Guru Nanak Colony, as part of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s (VMC) Air Quality Improvement Programme. The projects, funded under the 15th Finance Commission’s Air Quality Improvement Programme, are aimed at improving urban infrastructure while reducing dust pollution and enhancing the city’s air quality. The Minister was accompanied by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, East Assembly constituency MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao, VMC in-charge Commissioner D. Chandrasekhar, civic officials and local leaders. Mr. Ram Mohan said the Centre was committed to creating high-quality urban infrastructure across the country and that these projects would provide better roads, safer pedestrian facilities and contribute to reducing dust pollution in Vijayawada. Naresh Kumar on Sunday (April 13, 2025) urged the Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu to ensure revival of flights to Dubai, Colombo, Bangkok, Kuala-Lumpur from Visakhapatnam airport as they would benefit passengers of North Andhra region and Godavari districts. He submitted a representation to the minister in Srikakulam and sought direct flights for other international cities also as the occupancy ratio was good for all the flights when they were operated from Visakhapatnam. He said that the direct flights were needed to Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Coimbatore and other cities and convenient time scheduled for the flights operated to Vijayawada from Visakhapatnam.
