A court in Vadgaon Maval on Friday remanded prime accused Siya Goyal and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary, to judicial custody till July 16 in connection with the murder of 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal. The duo was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class AM Vibhute after the expiry of their police custody. Investigators sought a three-day extension, arguing that crucial digital evidence, including chats recovered from the accused’s mobile phones, was yet to be fully analysed. According to the prosecution, several conversations were allegedly conducted using coded language and symbols, requiring further custodial interrogation to decode the messages and verify their relevance to the murder investigation. However, the defence opposed the request, contending that the police had already been granted sufficient time to investigate and that no further custodial interrogation was necessary.
