The decomposed body of a 95-year-old woman, who has been missing for 10 days, was discovered in the underground water tank of her residential home in Vadodara on Wednesday. The woman has been missing since December 21, 2024. Makarpura police station has registered a case of accidental death in the incident that has left the neighbourhood of Tarsali area of the city in shock. The woman has been identified as Ujjam Parmar. Makarpura Police Inspector (PI) VS Patel said, “The family had lodged a missing persons’ complaint on December 22 and we scanned CCTV footage of the entire area but could not locate the senior citizen. It came as a shock to the family when the underground tank began emitting foul odour and they called the tank cleaners, who discovered the body.” The fire officials were then called in to retrieve the body and the Makarpura police station sent it for autopsy on Wednesday.
