Unidentified persons allegedly vandalised the Congress Mandalam Committee office in a north Kerala district, party sources said on Monday, adding that the cops have launched a probe in the matter, reported the PTI. The incident is believed to have taken place around midnight on Sunday at the Gandhi Mandiram building in Karivellur, near Payyannur. The miscreants reportedly broke open the door, entered the office and caused extensive damage. The campaign boards of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kappad and Thilannur divisions respectively of the Kannur Corporation were allegedly vandalised late on Monday night, prompting both fronts to file police complaints. In Kappad, CCTV visuals showed unidentified persons damaging the boards. The UDF alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the act. The campaign board of UDF candidate Parthan Chankat was among those allegedly destroyed. In Thilannur, BJP Kannur North district president K.K. Vinod Kumar alleged that anti-social elements were trying to create tension by targeting campaign materials. The campaign boards of the BJP’s T.C. Manoj, U.T Jayanthan, and Shameer Babu were also reportedly destroyed on Monday night. Ottawa: A gurdwara in Canada’s Vancouver was vandalised overnight with pro-Khalistan graffiti. The incident accused at the Khalsa Diwan Society or KDS gurdwara in Vancouver, better known as the Ross Street gurdwara. Images shared on the official account gurdwara administration showed the word “Khalistan” spray-painted in multiple places on the wall surrounding the parking lot of the sikh temple.  According to Canadian media reports, the Vancouver Police Department is investigating the incident that occurred on Saturday morning, the same day that the largest Vaisakhi parade in the world took place in Surrey.
