The Delhi government said a noticeable reduction in vehicular movement was observed on the city roads following strict enforcement of anti-pollution measures under GRAP-4, with increased public compliance with the Pollution Under Control (PUC) norms. In response to rising air pollution levels in the capital, the Delhi government on Thursday undertook a comprehensive monitoring exercise to assess the impact of the stringent measures implemented for pollution control, said an official statement. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed feedback received from her cabinet colleagues and their respective departments, and observed that the measures implemented by the government have delivered positive results on the ground. MOORTHY The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is “redesigning” the vehicular underpass (VUP) at Maruthi Nagar, the entry point to the city from the Chennai-Tiruchi-Thoothukudi National Highway. The move comes in the wake of lukewarm response from contractors to repeated tenders floated by the NHAI for the project. The NHAI, in an attempt to ease the traffic congestion at the intersection, planned to construct an overbridge near Maruthi Nagar for through-traffic to go over. It would be a vehicular underpass too as the existing carriageways will cater to vehicles exiting the highway towards the city and those entering the highway from here. The overbridge, proposed to have six lanes, was estimated to cost ₹45 crore approximately. The VUP was considered essential as the intersection witnesses heavy traffic round-the-clock and is situated on a curve. An automatic traffic signal has been installed at the intersection; police have placed barricades to force vehicles to slow …

Fortnite’s new post-apocalyptic season has Fallout, Magneto, and vehicular mayhem

Out with the gods, in with… a post-apocalypse. After some teasing, Fortnite just launched its latest battle royale season — we’re up to Chapter 5: Season 3 — and it’s heavily inspired by Mad Max and Fallout (in fact, Fallout is part of it). It’s called “Wrecked,” and it introduces a new wasteland region, a larger focus on vehicular combat, and, for some reason, Magneto. First up, let’s talk about the island itself. In the game’s fiction, a massive sandstorm rolled in, completely changing the southern section of the map. There are three new locations: a refinery called Redline Rig, a vehicle arena called Nitrodrome, and a beach area called Brutal Beachhead. To go along with them are “Wasteland Warriors,” which are basically this season’s boss characters, with names like The Machinist and Ringmaster Scarr. Also: there are now two War Buses patrolling the island, which players can hijack and take over. It appears there are two main gameplay updates. One is a substance called Nitro, which you can either drink or use on your …
