‘Love Aaj Kal 2 was a useless experiment’: Imtiaz Ali feels Kartik Aaryan-Sara Ali Khan film wasn’t a ‘viable project’

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has had more hits than misses in his 20-year career in Hindi cinema. One of the biggest misses for him was Love Aaj Kal 2, the spiritual sequel to his own film. The romantic drama, which starred Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, was a commercial and critical failure. In a recent interview, the filmmaker opened up on the folly and called it a ‘useless experiment’. Imtiaz Ali with Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan on the sets of Love Aaj Kal. Imtiaz Ali disses Love Aaj Kal sequel In an interview with Zoom, Imtiaz spoke about making the film. “In Love Aaj Kal 2, I did that because I already had the story, and I was excited about it. It didn’t work is a different matter. Love Aaj Kal 2 also told me that this is a useless experiment because it’s not even a viable project, if you don’t want to make it. Love Aaj Kal 2 was a story in itself. I could have made a different story,” he said. …

B. Patil said in the Legislative Assembly on Friday. Replying to a question by BJP member G. Janardhana Reddy, Mr. Patil said airports in Tier-II cities such as Kalaburagi, Bidar and Shivamogga are not financially sustainable after the completion of the three-year incentive period under the scheme, which provides concessional airfares to passengers. Across country Noting that several airports located in district and divisional headquarters across the country are facing similar financial challenges, he said the airport at Bidar is currently operating with financial support from the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB). There has also been a demand to resume operations at the Kalaburagi airport with similar support from the Board, he added. To improve the viability of district airports, Mr. Patil said he had proposed to the Union Civil Aviation Minister that the UDAN scheme …

High quality and affordable education built on viable public funding, a challenge in India, says N. Ram

High quality and affordable education built on viable public funding, a challenge in India, says N. Ram

N. Ram, Director, The Hindu Group, speaking at the India Global Education Summit 2026 in Chennai on Wednesday. | Photo Credit: M. SRINATH The scale and funding of higher educational institutions is at the heart of challenges faced by governments and a robust commitment to state funding was an important principle to resolve this, N. Ram, Director, The Hindu Group, said here on Wednesday. “We must learn from Europe on this,” Mr. Ram said, inaugurating the India Global Education Summit 2026, organised jointly by the Tamil Nadu Government and National Indian Students and Alumni Union, UK (NISAU). “Can we afford to do it is the big question. I think it’s a very important factor, a robust commitment to public funding. Globally, high quality and affordable education systems in Scandinavia and parts of continental Europe have been built on sustained public investment. In India, unfortunately, investment in education continues to languish below three per cent of GDP,” he said.  Combining quality and excellence with affordability and access for the most disadvantaged sections was another persistent challenge …

“Is That Even A Viable Option?” Ex-India Star Questions Rajasthan Royals’ Batting Line-Up

“Is That Even A Viable Option?” Ex-India Star Questions Rajasthan Royals’ Batting Line-Up

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra questioned the viability of the Rajasthan Royals’ batting lineup in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). “I am thinking that once they decided to go with an all-Indian batting lineup, in which Samson was the most experienced and the oldest, with Shimron Hetmyer lower down the order – the only overseas batting option – is that even a viable option?” Aakash Chopra said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. Chopra also highlighted the importance of seniors in the team, citing Jos Buttler, who played the role of senior batter until last year for RR. Rajasthan released him ahead of IPL 2025. “We say it’s a young man’s game, fine but if you put all of them together – they’re all talented, they’re all skilful – but there’s not a senior stateman in the side, something that Jos Buttler used to do till last year, is that even a viable option? Even in the Indian T20 team, you still need a Suryakumar Yadav to handle whoever else is around him, before …

“Isn’t Viable…”: Big Doubts Over BCCI’s Team India Squad For Champions Trophy Raised

“Isn’t Viable…”: Big Doubts Over BCCI’s Team India Squad For Champions Trophy Raised

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan has backed India’s move to delay Mohammed Shami’s much-anticipated international return following a prolonged injury lay-off, saying the team think tank and the veteran pacer will make the “right call at the right time”. Shami, who has proved his fitness in practice sessions and domestic cricket for Bengal, was not included in India’s playing XI for the first T20I against England here on Wednesday. All eyes were on Shami’s return after a 14-month injury lay-off, but India opted for three spinners instead, a decision that paid off as they bowled out England for a meagre 132 before cruising to the target in 12.5 overs with seven wickets in hand. Irfan said Shami is experienced enough to take an honest assessment of his body. “When you’ve been such a seasoned campaigner and are among India’s top 10 bowlers, you understand your body’s limits well,” said Irfan at a promotional event here. “Shami always provides honest feedback to the team management, and decisions are made through mutual communication. Recovery at the …

Jasprit Bumrah is a viable captaincy option: Cheteshwar Pujara | Cricket News

Cheteshwar Pujara says Jasprit Bumrah has got all the qualities of being a good captain and will be a perfect candidate to replace Rohit Sharma, once the current India captain decides to step down. “He is (a viable long term captaincy option) with any doubt,” Pujara said on ESPN Cricinfo. “The way he has showed that in difficult circumstances when we had a tough series at home and when you are playing a first Test match in Australia and to put up a show like that.” “I think he has the capability of leading the team and he’s a team’s man. You look at him he never only talks about himself, he talks about the team, the other players. What advice he would give,” he added. In the absence of regular skipper Rohit, Bumrah led an under-pressure Indian team to their most dominant win in Australia. “There are times when players don’t need advise and he accepts it, he says that.. if there is an experienced player he will keep quite. That is the sign …

Is a Virtual Contact Center Viable for Busy Companies?

Virtual contact centers leverage cloud-based VoIP technology, enabling high-volume communication from any internet-connected device. They combine advanced call handling, routing, analytics, agent management, and queueing into one user-friendly platform. All while enabling the people who use it to make and take calls — or manage the system — from home, a coffee shop, a hotel room, or their desk at work. How to set up virtual contact center software It starts with finding the right contact center software. First and foremost, look for a solution that centralizes all the communication channels you use — voice, video, social media, email, and texting to name a few. Beyond that, it’s a game of balancing the features you need with the budget you’ve got. Some tools have advanced features for large teams, others are simple and streamlined for a handful of agents. After you’ve signed up, you’ll need to port existing numbers if you have them — this can take weeks or months and severely delay the process if you don’t plan for it. You’ll also need to …

Virat Kohli’s middle-overs slowdown makes him viable only for the opening slot at T20 World Cup | Ipl News

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 113 off 72 deliveries, a record-extending eighth century in the IPL, against Rajasthan Royals was the slowest ton in the history of the tournament and ignited the debate over his efficacy in the format, and the role of sheet anchors in general. With the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA to be named in a week or two, it becomes clear that if Kohli has to be part of the plans, he has to be opening the batting. The T20 format has become one decided by strike rates rather than batting averages, and doesn’t have scope for too many players who are steady and consistent rather than explosive from the outset. Even the great Kohli is not immune to this argument. He can’t afford to slow down in the middle overs after getting a start in the Powerplay. Rewinding to that evening in Jaipur, Kohli’s ton (which came off 67 balls) batting first on a two-paced surface pushed his team to 183 for three. Only …
