Vijay on Tuesday was asked to appear before investigators on January 19 for further questioning. The fresh summon comes a day after Vijay was grilled for several hours by the CBI over alleged lapses in crowd management and delays during a political gathering in Karur last year that left 41 people dead and more than 100 injured. The stampede occurred on September 27, 2025, during a massive event organised by Vijay’s party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
