A 42-year-old daily wage labourer killed his wife, daughter and sister-in-law before taking his own life in the early hours of Sunday at Kulkacherla in Vikarabad district, reportedly following domestic disputes and suspicions over his wife’s fidelity. The accused, identified as Vepuri Yadaiah, attacked his wife Alivelu, 35, his daughters Aparna, 13, and Shravani, 10, and his sister-in-law Hanumamma, 40, with a knife inside their home around 3 a.m. Police said Yadaiah later hanged himself. SP of Vikarabad police, K. Narayana Reddy, said the elder daughter Aparna, survived the attack and alerted neighbours, who informed the police. The other three victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot. “Investigations revealed that Yadaiah, described by the locals as an antisocial person, had been quarrelling with his wife for several years, suspecting her character. The couple, both daily wage earners, had recently been counselled by village elders in an attempt to resolve their disputes. Vikarabad accident | Bus crashes into parked lorry killing four returning from family function, 17 injured

A family function ended in tragedy for four Shabad residents, as they were killed in a road accident when the private bus they were traveling in rammed into a stationary lorry on Bijapur-Hyderabad National Highway (NH 163) in Vikarabad district in the wee hours of Tuesday (May 20, 2025). Seventeen others sustained injuries in the crash, including one who is in critical condition. The deceased were identified as 60-year-old Balamma, 30-year-old M. Ashwini, 30-year-old M. Mallesh and 26-year-old M. Sandeep, all relatives returning to their hometown of Shabad after attending a function in Parigi. The injured, including the driver, were rushed to various hospitals in Hyderabad and are currently undergoing treatment. Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for internal road laying work at the Mobility Valley Park of Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) in Yenkathla village of Mominpet mandal, Vikarabad district, on Tuesday. The park will be spread over 862 acres and is expected to generate employment for nearly 10,000 youth, the Minister said. The road works will entail an investment of ₹44.3 crore. Mr. Sridhar Babu emphasised that industrial development should not be confined to Hyderabad. The government is encouraging industrialists to invest across various regions in the State. Three, including 2 students, killed in a road accident in Vikarabad

Three, including two students, were killed in a road accident in Pudur of Vikarabad on Thursday (October 17, 2024) morning. The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Mittakankati Praveen, a farmer, 21-year-old Chilukamarri Naveen Kumar, a degree student and 15-year-old Buddamolla Harshavardhan, a class 10 student, all residents of Medikonda village of Pudur mandal. According to the police, the accident was reported around 11 a.m. when the trio was travelling towards Parigi on their two-wheeler. “Praveen was riding the bike when the vehicle collided head-on with a RTC bus coming in the opposite direction, near the Pudur Gate,” Vikarabad Superintendent of Police K. Narayana Reddy said. The bus was headed from Parigi to Manneguda of Hyderabad While two of them died on the spot, Praveen succumbed to injuries while he was being shifted to the hospital. 14 kg of marijuana seized from two men at Vikarabad railway station

The Government Railway Police (GRP) staff seized 14 kg of ganja from two traffickers who were travelling on Konark Express in Vikarabad. Officials said the men, identified as Manoj Parmar, 25, and Anil Updhyay, 28, confessed that due to their meagre earnings they had hatched a plan to transport the contraband from Odisha to Mumbai. “They were handed over the bags of contraband by a man at Berhampur railway station and were given ₹25,000 each.
