Which new shots has Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added to his armoury this year?

Vikram Rathour told Saba Karim when the former stumper wondered aloud if Vaibhav Sooryavanshi might face second-season blues this year, ‘Saba, just wait and watch.’ I think he is equally prepared to handle any kind of delivery.” Speaking to JioHotstar, Karim said Sooryavanshi is reading bowlers quickly – calling it his best quality. While the world awaits his inauguration in international cricket, Sooryavanshi has added a broad swath of shots to his repertoire in 2026, and looks ready, Karim said. “This is the best trait of Vaibhav’s batting. He realises very quickly where the bowlers might target him, takes a few balls to assess whether he has the shots in his armoury to score against those deliveries, and prepares accordingly,” Karim explained, elaborating, “That kind of preparation is what he has done. That’s why this year we have seen him start to play the upper cut against shorter deliveries, hit through the covers with a strong base, go over long-off, over cover, and play inside-out shots. All these shots that he has added to his …

Why does Ab de Villiers think Samson was closer to the ODI squad for ENG tour

2 min readJun 25, 2026 04:02 PM IST Sanju Samson finished the T20 World Cup 2026, scoring three back-to-back half-centuries. During the Indian Premier League 2026 season, he was in sublime form for the Chennai Super Kings, scoring two centuries, including 477 runs at an average of 43.36. Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers opined that the call to omit Rishabh Pant was obvious, but he felt Samson was close to returning to the ODI format for the England series. “Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul the two top wicket-keepers. The big thing there is no Pant, no Samson. Samson must have been close, closer than Pant, as he had a really good IPL but also prior to that, showing signs of form. Not a lot of surprises there, but just for Samson, I feel he was close,” he said on his YouTube channel. De Villiers also mentioned the omission of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a century in his previous game against Afghanistan. “Virat Kohli back. Little bit of a tough one on Jaiswal, who was …

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can break out of jail if they can shine with bat and guide India to wins in England ODIs

India are touring England for three ODIs next month, and the rubber is particularly very important for two players in the team, both very seasoned and great servants of Indian cricket. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. These ODIs will be India’s first away from home since October last year in Australia, where the team under Shubman Gill lost 2-1.
