The Iranian football team was initially supposed to have their training based in Tucson, Arizona, but will now be based out of Tijuana, Mexico, according to Mehdi Taj, the president of the Iran Football Federation. Taj made the announcement late on Saturday in a statement and also claimed that the global governing body of football, FIFA, had given its blessings for the move. Brazilian DJ Alok rocks Coachella, while some other international artists cancel

By Danielle Broadway Brazilian DJ Alok rocks Coachella, while some other international artists cancel INDIO, California – Brazilian DJ Alok brought a beaming blend of electronic dance beats to the stage on Saturday at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival despite the growing fears of international artists about the future of performing in America. “For me as a Brazilian, it’s always been hard to get a visa. So, for us, it didn’t change much,” Alok told Reuters during an interview backstage at Coachella, held in Southern California. “But, of course, for Europe and others, they changed the rules, right?” he added. Alok heard about other Coachella performances being cancelled in 2025 due to visa issues and feels fortunate that he made it to the festival when other international artists could not. “For us, we were very lucky. The team were all here from LA, so that was amazing,” he said. In the first week of April, British singer FKA Twiggs, who was scheduled to perform at Coachella, cancelled her performance. She said that she …

Pakistani-origin England pacer faced long visa delay | Cricket News

England will travel to India for a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series starting next week. The visitors left for Kolkata on Friday where the first game will be played. However, pacer Saqib Mahmood would join the team late as his visa was granted belatedly. Because of the initial delay, the 27-year-old missed the training camp in UAE. This is not the first time an England player of Pakistan origin had issues with visas. Last year Shoaib Bashir too had issues with the same and he missed the first Test in Hyderabad. Bashir’s visa application was made in December 2023, along with all of his England teammates, after the touring party was announced. But while the other players, as well as the coaching and support staff, received their visas well in time, the 20-year-old Bashir had to stay back in the UAE where the England squad had a pre-tour training camp before leaving for India. The Somerset off-spinner eventually had to return to England when it was reportedly said that he had to …

Delhi: The inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025 has received a setback of sorts with India’s arch-rivals Pakistan unable to travel due to visa issues. The opening match was supposed to be played between India and Pakistan on the 13th of January at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, in New Delhi. However, due to the neighboring nation not receiving visas on time, their participation in the World Cup will not be possible. Technical reasons “There are a couple of technical reasons behind the absence of Pakistan. I am not sure if they applied on time for the visas but it is the only reason that looks possible at the moment,” one of the officials close to the development told The Bridge on conditions of anonymity. The official also confirmed that the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) tried for the formalities to be completed but it didn’t come through. The absence of the Pakistan Kho Kho team from the World Cup is just another addition to the strained sporting relations between both countries with the Indian …
