(Reuters) India on Friday announced that it will grant one-month visa extensions and waive overstay penalties for foreign nationals stranded in the country because of travel disruptions linked to the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran. The Consulate General of India in Dubai announced that the relief measures were being introduced to help travellers unable to leave India due to the conflict in the Gulf, as flights remain disrupted to several countries. “All types of visas/e-visas expiring/due for expiry soon would be extended for a month on gratis basis, for the affected nationals by jurisdictional FRROs (Foreigners Regional Registration Offices) on a case-to-case basis: Penalty for any overstay by affected foreign nationals due to ongoing developments in West Asia after February 28, 2026, would be waived off,” the statement read.
