Short films often have very little time to establish characters before diving into the conflict, but Incognito manages to do both with surprising confidence. Directed by Ravi Muppa, the thriller unfolds almost entirely inside a modest hotel, where the receptionist secretly monitors guests through hidden cameras installed in one of the rooms. What begins as an unsettling story about invasion of privacy soon transforms into a tense moral dilemma when he stumbles upon a crime far more disturbing than he ever expected. Without revealing too much, Incognito asks a compelling question – can someone with questionable intentions still become the unlikely hero of the story? The premise instantly brings to mind classics like Rear Window, where watching strangers slowly turns into something much bigger, while its confined setting and mounting tension echo films such as Disturbia. Yet Incognito never feels like it is merely borrowing ideas.
