Delhi-NCR Rains, Weather Forecast Today LIVE News Updates: Delhi and its surrounding areas woke up to a rainy morning Friday with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) sounding an ‘orange’ alert and forecasting more showers through the day. According to IMD’s forecast, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected till 11.30 am in the National Capital Region (NCR). While Safdarjung reported moderate rainfall of 9.1 mm, other stations saw light to moderate showers —Palam (11.3 mm), Lodhi Road (6.8 mm), Pusa (5.5 mm), Ayanagar (4.9 mm), Ridge (1.8 mm), Pitampura (1.5 mm), and Narela (1 mm). According to the IMD, the active Western Disturbance and its interaction with the easterly winds are causing the rain. Also, in the morning, moderate fog of 350 metres was reported at Safdarjung, IMD said. On Tuesday, the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) curbs were lifted across Delhi-NCR after an improvement in the air quality following rain.
