OTT Releases This Week: 1000 Babies, The Office (Australia), Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives and More

The biggest Indian OTT releases this week are Hotstar’s 1000 Babies and Dharmatic Entertainment’s Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, returning for a third season. While the former is a bone-chilling crime thriller set in Kerala, the latter gives a peek into the lavish lives of powerful women from the film industry, married to popular Bollywood actors. On the international front, there’s some delightful news for the fans of American sitcom, The Office –– the Australian version of the beloved show is dropping on Prime Video this Friday. Other shows returning for a second and third time, respectively, are Apple TV’s Shrinking and Netflix’s legal drama, The Lincoln Lawyer. While the former is a deep exploration of human emotions, the latter –– a courtroom thriller –– provides a high-stakes look at Los Angeles’ legal scene. A popular video-game-to-Web-series adaptation comes from Netflix in the form of Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, where we see ferocious space battles, high-tech armour suits, and jaw-dropping action sequences in a futuristic world. Top Ott Releases This Week: Atlas, Crew, The Kardashians Season 5 and More

While last week was big on ott releases in the form of Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1 dropping in, the pool seems a bit shallow this time, making the perfect room for the third season of TVF’s highly anticipated series Panchayat, which follows the story of the newly elected Panchayat secretary of a remote village. With the second season’s cliffhanger of a finale, the excitement among the followers of the series is broiling up each day. Except for Jennifer Lopez’s sci-fi Atlas on Netflix, there doesn’t seem to be any major originals hitting the screens. The film revolves around AI terrorism and relies on Lopez’s character to save the world.Another notable release is the fifth season of The Kardashians, which follows the dramatic lives of internet celebrities Kris, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner. Although there are no Indian originals this week, we have two big post-theatrical releases in the form of Tabu’s comedy thriller Crew on Netflix and Randeep Hooda’s political biography Swatantrata Veer Savarkar on Zee5. If you are in the mood …

Top OTT Releases This Week: Murder in Mahim, Doctor Who Season 14, and More

This week’s OTT releases have thriller elements at the very core. Whether it is JioCinema’s crime mystery Murder in Mahim – based on the plight of homosexuals in India – or Apple TV’s sci-fi series Dark Matter, you’ll be glued to your screens in anticipation of what follows next. The former carefully dissects the homophobia-ridden social fabric of our society, and the latter delves deep into the endless possibilities of how our lives could have turned out. Hotstars’ Doctor Who Season 14 serves wit, humour, suspense, and mystery. With decades of material to compare with, this nascent instalment has a lot to prove. Another big pick is SonyLiv’s Undekhi, returning for a third season. It explores the dark underbelly of being drunk on wealth and power, with an influential family at focus. The first two seasons were quite a hit amongst the audience, making this revival much anticipated. If you are looking for something in non-fiction, you can go for Netflix’s newest true crime documentary, Cooking Up Murder: Uncovering the Story of César Román, which …

Top OTT Releases This Week: Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Shaitaan, The Idea of You, and Other

This week, we have a rich ott platter of grandeur, survival, black magic, journalistic nuances, unlikely romance, and abuse against women. The biggest release of all is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grandiose Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Netflix, which explores the pre-partition world of tawaifs (courtesans) in Lahore, who held a special social status and made a significant contribution to India’s struggle for Independence. Originally, Bhansali was planning on making a film on the subject, but since the storyline was too elaborate, he decided to make it a series instead. Next in line is the second season of Sonali Bendre’s show on the media industry, The Broken News. This show exposes the face of today’s biased media, which feeds on sensationalism and conveniently brushes aside the ethics of fair journalism. In terms of post-theatrical releases, we have Mollywood’s blockbuster Manjummel Boys, which is based on a true incident when a young boy fell into a dangerous cave and was rescued by his untrained friends. We also have Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, in which a sinister man (played …

New OTT Releases This Week: Laapataa Ladies, Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond, Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare Season 3 and More

Nature lovers could watch Tiger or Tigers on the Rise on Hotstar. True crime lovers could watch the Chilean series The Doomsday Cult of Antares de la Luz or the Spanish series The Asunta Case. For those with a musical ear, we recommend Thank You, Good Night: The Bon Jovi Story, which chronicles the iconic rock band’s four decades. New OTT Releases This Week: Rebel Moon Part 2, Article 370, All Indian Rank and More

The biggest release for this week undoubtedly has to be Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, a direct sequel to the sci-fi thriller Rebel Moon, where a group of warriors attempt to wage a war against the tyrannical Motherworld and save what is left of their home planet. Synder has already planned for four more movies from the franchise. On the home front, Manoj Bajpayee’s sequel crime thriller Silence 2 seems to be the only new major release. However, we have Yami Gautam starrer Article 370 and Varun Grover’s All India Rank to balance. While the former is a highly political drama based in Kashmir, Grover’s latest explores the lives of JEE aspirants enrolled in Kota’s coaching centres. However, if you are in the mood for a no-brainer, we recommend Prime Video’s reality television series Going Home with Tyler Cameron, in which the American television personality enters into the home renovation space and starts his construction and home renovation company after the sudden demise of his mother. Those looking for something hilarious should …

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Parasyte: The Grey, and Others on Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar and Sony Liv

Sadly, there are no major Indian originals for this week. Sony Liv’s middle-class family drama Family Aaj Kal seems to be the only option for those looking for Indian titles. It is set in a typical middle-class family where the daughter falling in love with a cab driver sets the family in panic mode. On the other hand, plenty of international titles are hitting the screens this week, including K-drama Parasytes: The Grey, Scoop, and How to Date Billy Walsh. In Parasytes, you’ll see extraterrestrial creatures sucking off life from humans to increase their power. Scoop will take you back to BBC’s infamous interview in 2019 with Prince Andrews, in which he was questioned about his relationship with a sex offender. Prime Video’s How To Date Billy Walsh will do the tricks if you are in the mood for something with high-school romance. For young ones, Hotstar is dishing out the animated musical comedy Wish, in which a young girl wishes on a star, unaware of what’s in store. Many post-theatrical OTT releases are lined …

One of the major releases of the week is Sara Ali Khan’s Ae Watan Mere Watan which will take you to the pre-Indepence Bombay. Khan is seen playing the celebrated freedom fighter, Usha Mehta. It offers an impressive cocktail of cultural, social, and scientific conundrums. Marvel Studios also have a big …

For those looking for a no-brainer and entertaining light watch, we recommend Zac Efron and John Cena’s Ricky Stanicky, which is bound to make you laugh.
