Following Jacob’s appearance in the Twilight film series and global fame, Taylor Lautner is set to lead the Werewolf Hunter series on Amazon MGM Studios.  Amazon MGM Studios is developing Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, as reported by Variety. It is a scripted series executive produced by and starring Twilight veteran Lautner, Deadline has confirmed. The series is written by Daisy Gardner (Single Drunk Female), who will also be the showrunner. As per the official logline, the series takes a fictional approach to Lautner’s post-Twilight life. After the conclusion of the hit franchise, Lautner allegedly took a backseat from the limelight. What fans speculated and tabloids theorized as the truth—and at least within this fictional reality—is much more extraordinary. The series depicts Lautner not just as an actor on sabbatical but as one training in secret for his real mission: werewolf hunting. Director Amar Kaushik is busy with the post-production of Stree 2, the sequel to Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s 2018 horror comedy. Meanwhile, another sequel is vying for his attention. Sources tell us that as soon as Stree 2 reaches the finish line, the filmmaker will focus on the script of Bhediya 2, which will see Varun Dhawan reprise his role of a shape-shifting werewolf.     It turns out Niren Bhatt, who penned the script of Bhediya (2022), has begun writing the second instalment on the basis of the plot that Kaushik and he have discussed. “Bhediya was always envisioned as a franchise. It’s a part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe. After Stree 2 is delivered to the studio by March, Amar and Niren will sit on the script of Bhediya 2 and have the final draft ready by mid-2024,” says a source.
