26-year-old man arrested for shooting at his wife in Tripura | North East India News

A 26-year-old man was arrested for shooting at his wife at Kalamchoura in Tripura’s Sepahijala district, police said on Tuesday. The woman, who sustained bullet injuries on her hand and feet, is admitted to a hospital. The police identified the man as Balabir Singh, a resident of Hapania in West Tripura district, and said they had recovered a pistol along with two rounds of ammunition from him. “The investigation is underway to find out the reasons behind the incident. We arrested him from Hapania and will hand him over to the Kalamchoura police,” said an officer from the Amtali police station. On November 10, a man named Raju Deb was arrested in the North district for possessing a pistol and ammunition. During a raid, the police recovered a 7.62 mm Russian automatic pistol, live cartridges, two smartphones and a vehicle from him. According to the police, Deb confessed to have bought the weapon from Dimapur, Nagaland.
