Flamingo flocks spotted in April at Nandur Madhmeshwar, surprise visitors delight nature love

In a rare summer sighting, flocks of flamingos have arrived at Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary in Nashik district, popularly known as the ‘Bharatpur of Maharashtra’, bringing a splash of pink to the reservoir amid April’s scorching heat. The migratory flamingos, locally known as Rohit, were spotted descending on the sanctuary on April 28, creating a striking visual across the water body at the confluence of the Godavari and Kadwa rivers. The sight is unusual for this time of the year, as flamingo congregations are typically associated with winter months. The sightings recently have sparked interest among wildlife experts and conservationists. Traditionally considered elusive and difficult to spot, black leopards are referred to as ‘melanistic leopards’. Despite being a very rare wild cat, they are now being reported more frequently in high-rainfall regions such as Tilari, Radhanagari, and parts of the Ratnagiri district.  Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here.
