Police busted a religious conversion racket operating under the pretence of a medical camp in Meerut. The Partapur police station apprehended five individuals linked to the racket.

The supposed medical camp, situated in the Shivpuram area, was a facade for a prayer meeting where people were encouraged to embrace Christianity.

Earlier, members of a Hindu organisation, acting on a tip-off, arrived at the scene and questioned the attendees. It was found out that after being lured with promises of medical treatment, the attendees instead found themselves in a prayer meeting.

The police discovered numerous books related to Christianity at the location.

Vineet, a man who had converted to Christianity a decade prior, has been identified as the mastermind of the conversion scheme.

The police said that Vineet had been orchestrating these conversion attempts for the past five years, using a house in Partapur as his base. The investigation is currently focused on tracing the financial sources behind this operation.

This incident follows similar cases of conversion reported in Kanker Khera Railway Road and Brahmpuri in Meerut.
