Jay Pawar, son of late Ajit Pawar, shared a video on Instagram alleging that VSR Ventures owner Rohit Singh was seen sleeping in the cockpit mid-air, and demanded immediate action from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

In the video, posted on Sunday, Rohit Singh appears to be taking a nap in the cockpit while seated in the main pilot’s seat during a flight. Another pilot can be seen sitting beside him, navigating the jet.

Jay Pawar described the visuals as “extremely serious and shocking”. Sharing the clip, he wrote, “In this video, VSR’s owner Rohit Singh is seen sleeping in the chief pilot’s seat during the flight. Such negligence while being in the air is unacceptable. This is extremely serious and shocking. I firmly demand that the DGCA take immediate and strict action in this matter.”

He further called for all VSR aircraft to be grounded until a complete investigation is carried out. “Until a complete investigation is conducted, all VSR aircraft should be grounded immediately, and Rohit Singh should be arrested at once and subjected to strict legal action. This is the heartfelt plea of a son… for my father and for the safety of every passenger,” he added.

On Saturday, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released its preliminary report on the crash, stating that visibility at the time was below the required level. The report also flagged fading runway markings and the presence of loose gravel on the runway surface at Baramati. It recommended that the DGCA ensure stakeholders maintain proper safety standards at uncontrolled airfields.

Jay Pawar expressed disappointment over the findings. “I read the preliminary report. I feel pain and am disappointed that the report was not detailed and complete. People of Maharashtra and the families who lost their loved ones in the accident should get transparent information about the plane crash and all the questions should be answered,” he said.
