Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, co-stars from It Ends With Us, are currently entangled in a major legal dispute. Lively has filed a $250 million lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and allegedly running a campaign to ruin her reputation. In response, Baldoni countersued The New York Times for $250 million after the outlet reported on Lively’s claims. Amidst this ongoing legal drama, Bethenny Frankel spilled the tea on how uncomfortable the It Ends With Us premiere left her feeling.
In a TikTok video, Frankel began by revealing that she hadn’t shared her premiere story before because she feared it might get her “cancelled.”
“I have the craziest ‘It Ends With Us’ premiere story that I totally forgot about and I’m putting the pieces together now,” she said.
The 54-year-old entrepreneur mentioned that she attended the premiere with her colleague Danielle. However, things took an unexpected turn when they were told there would be an hour-long gap between the red carpet and the start of the movie.
“Now maybe that happens. I’ve never seen that happen,” Frankel added.
The gap was “too short to go to dinner” but “too long to stand there in stilettos,” so Frankel and Danielle decided to leave and grab margaritas instead.
While heading out for drinks, Frankel ran into one of Lively’s team members who she said seemed distant and “a little icy.”
“Just, there’s something that I’m like, ‘Wow, OK,’ and in other circumstances, this person is not this way and it just, it was slightly off-putting to Danielle and I. We both noted it,” The Real Housewives of New York City alum recalled.
After their margaritas, they returned to the theatre. Frankel was still excited to see the film especially because she’s a fan of Lively.
“So, we walk upstairs and we see Anna Wintour. She passes us, I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’” she said.
While making their way into the theatre, Frankel briefly spoke to someone who mentioned Baldoni.
“This guy says to me, ‘Oh Bethenny, you know Justin [Baldoni], he was on your podcast.’ And he’s in this one line and we say hello to each other.”
Frankel admitted that she didn’t remember Baldoni at first but she described him as “very nice.”
Despite this interaction, the seating arrangements at the premiere felt odd. “Usually, not usually, always, unless it’s a weird different screening, the premiere is in one giant theater. But here, he’s in one theater, something’s going on somewhere else. I saw Anna walk this way,” Frankel said.
The seating situation added to the strange vibe and Frankel said she and Danielle felt like “everybody” was separated.
“The vibe was off … I didn’t tell anybody because I thought I would be cancelled if we left,” she said.
“Because the vibes were not vibing. Like, wasted hair, makeup, outfit, to go to the city, drink a margarita in a mason jar, take a bucket of popcorn, take two bites, see Anna Wintour, see Justin Baldoni and left to go back to Connecticut. Like, talk about blue balls,” the BStrong founder continued.
Frankel explained that she had never left a premiere early, no matter how bad the movie was but in this case, she just couldn’t stay.
“Something was definitely awry from the jump and it was palpable. It felt like I was doing something wrong, but it felt like I was also doing something right,” she said about leaving early. “Something was f*****.”
