Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has tied the knot in a private ceremony. The 27-year-old world champion announced the same via a social media post on Sunday.

“Started a new phase of life with my family,” Chopra wrote. “Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together.

“Bound by love, happily ever after,” he added.

Though Chopra, a two-time Olympics medallist, did not divulge a lot of details in his post, he divulged the name of his newly wed wife to be Himani.

Chopra was last seen in action at the 2024 Diamond League Final, where he finished second behind Grenada’s Anderson Peters in September. This was just a month after his silver medal finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Chopra had struggled with injuries throughout the 2024 season. He had indicated towards undergoing a surgery post the season but had then decided against it.

Chopra is currently training under a new coach in Jan Zelenzy after parting ways with long-time coach Klaus Bartonietz at the end of the last season.
