Dhananjaya de Silva Included in Sri Lanka Squad for England ODIs


The SLC has unveiled the Sri Lanka Squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, which includes Dhananjaya de Silva, Dunith Wellalage and Milan Rathnayake.

The team will be led by Charith Asalanka and has retained most of the players to maintain continuity despite a 3-0 defeat in the series.

The Sri Lanka squad features a strong batting lineup of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kamil Mishara and Sadeera Samarawickrama.

Meanwhile, the bowling attack offers a balanced mix of pace and spin. The pace department will be led by Asitha Fernando, Pramod Madushan and Eshan Malinga, while the spin options include Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Jeffrey Vandersay, along with Wellalage.

Hasaranga has been included in the squad with his fitness and form will be monitored which could be crucial in the side’s T20 World Cup plans.

The ODI series is set to be played on January 22, 24 and 26, which will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

The ODI series will be followed by five match T20I series in England’s tour of Sri Lanka 2026, which will be crucial preparations for both sides for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on February 07 in India and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka will be aiming to look at their combinations ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027, which is set to be played on their home soil.
