A ‘Toxic’ Clash
After months of uncertainty, Kannada star Yash has finally locked a release date for his upcoming action fantasy, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The film will now release on August 28. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the movie has endured multiple postponements. Originally slated for a March release, Toxic was first shifted to June before being delayed again. At the time, the makers cited global uncertainties, particularly the conflict in West Asia, as a factor affecting their plans for a worldwide rollout. The film marks Yash’s return to cinemas four years after the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), which grossed over R1,200 crore worldwide. Toxic features Yash in a double role alongside Tovino Thomas, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.
A crowded Independence Day corridor
With the fresh announcement ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ will now clash at the box-office with Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s ‘Vvan’, Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’, and Telugu actioner ‘Bhogi’, starring Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran.
