Actor Anna Camp has publicly come out as bisexual, opening up about embracing her identity and personal growth in her 40s. The Scream 7 star spoke candidly about her journey during an appearance on the podcast I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario.

In a preview clip, obtained by PEOPLE, from the March 10 episode, Camp reflected on the courage it took to speak openly about her sexuality while living in the public eye.

“As a 43-year-old woman, I am very proud of myself for owning my sexuality at this age,” Camp said during her conversation with host Tommy DiDario. “I am a very strong person for doing it in somewhat of a spotlight with people criticising and judging and making assumptions. I’m really proud to be bisexual.”

Camp also spoke about undergoing what she described as a “major evolution” in her 40s, explaining that she has chosen to embrace change rather than fear it.

“Sure, there are times I feel like I am taking a risk and this is scary and I’m doing it in a public forum. But to say, ‘No, I only get one life and I want to be happy,’ that’s what life is all about,” she shared.

The actor added that personal growth often means challenging long-held perceptions about oneself. She explained that earlier in life, she believed she had a clear idea of how her future would unfold.

“You think you’ve got this idea of who you are and that’s how your life is going to go,” she said. “And that’s happened to me several times in my life, where I thought that I knew what was happening. And it could have stopped in that way. I could have settled. I could have said, no, I’m done evolving.”

Instead, Camp said she is committed to continuing to grow and discover new aspects of herself.

Relationship With Jade Whipkey

Camp first confirmed her relationship with writer and stylist Jade Whipkey in May 2025. The couple later made their red-carpet debut together at the premiere of Camp’s film Bride Hard in June the same year.

The relationship quickly drew significant online attention, something Camp later addressed in an interview with Cosmopolitan. She admitted that both she and Whipkey were surprised by the public reaction.

“We’ve been a bit surprised by all of the hubbub, but there’s been a lot of support so we’re very grateful and thankful for everybody who is supportive of us. It’s lovely,” she said.

Before identifying as queer in 2025, Camp had previously been married twice. She was married to actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013. Later, she tied the knot with her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin in 2016. The couple separated in April 2019 and finalized their divorce later that year.

Now, Camp says her focus is on living authentically and continuing to evolve — even if it means stepping outside the expectations placed on her.

The podcast I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario releases new episodes every Tuesday, while Camp can currently be seen on the big screen in Scream 7.
